Friday - we went Hiking up Masada and got to see and experience the palace originally built by King Hurdos (Herod) and later used as a mountain refuge for the Yidden fighting the Romans after the destruction of the second Beis Hamikdash. We learned the history of the tragic ending to the Yidden taking their own lives rather than falling into the hands of the brutal Romans.
We then went swimming in the Yam Hamelech - the lowest point on planet earth! We ate lunch and switched over to bulletproof buses as we headed to our accommodations in Kiryat Arbah, for a Shabbos in Chevron!
Shabbos - Friday night Kabolas Shabbos in Me'oras Hamachpela, full of singing and dancing, the atmosphere was indescribable.
Shabbos day we had a tour of the old city of Chevron, the Avraham Avinu shul, Mitteler Rebbe's shul, the Kever of Rebbetzin Menucha Rochel and we visited "Tel Chevron" - the archeological findings of the original - "biblical" - Chevron. It was at this spot where the original walls and steps of Chevron were found, it was on these steps that Avraham Avinu purchased Me'aras Hamachpela from Efron.
Found in this treasure trove of archeological findings is also the remains of houses and vessels from up to 4,500 years ago!
Mincha we Davened in the famous Avraham Avinu Shul, we had Seder Niggunim and Ma'ariv in Me'oras Hamachpela.
