As Shabbos came in, we headed down to the Kosel HaMaaravi. Everyone felt the emotion of the moment, as the golden stones of the last remaining wall of the Beis HaMikdash came into view in the setting sun. The bochurim gathered their chairs in a circle and sang together seder nigunim, with Jews of all backgrounds and types gathering around to join.
Video: Friday in Yerushalayim
On Friday, after Shacharis and breakfast, the bochurim took the short walk to Ir David, where we were shown the archaeological findings of the original city of Yerushalayim under the rule of Dovid HaMelech, and even the structure which they believe may have been the palace of Dovid. We then walked through the Siloam tunnel, which was chiseled out of the rock on the directive of Chizkiyahu HaMelech, to bring the water closer into the city of Yerushalayim, in preparation for the advance of the army of Sancheriv king of Ashur. After wading through the waters of the ancient tunnel, it was time for an essential Erev Shabbos experience; the Shuk Machane Yehuda. There the bochurim navigated the massive crowds to pick up some treats for themselves, and spend money they each received for lunch. Then it was time to go back to our base on Har Tzion to prepare for Shabbos.

Mivtzah "Tef Hecher" Event
Since the beginning of the summer the Bochurim have been working hard to earn "dollars" on their "Tef Hecher" credit cards, by taking various hachlatos to improve their yiddishkeit and chassidishkeit. From saying Krias Shema in the correct time, with a a hat and jacket, learning Chitas and Rambam and once a week writing in to the Rebbe. This week, the Bochurim who had participated until now (almost the entire yeshivas kayitz!) were treated to an exclusive "Tef Hecher" event on the roof of the Tzfas sta"m museum; beginning at sunset, and continuing into the night.
Winery Tour - Army Base
On Friday, the Bochurim went to the Galil Mountain Winery, where we witnessed first hand the machinery of the wine-making process, learned about how they do it, and even got to taste some of their product. To truly appreciate the wine, we first had lessons in wine-tasting, frrom the smell to the swish in the glass. We were also extremely lucky to have the opportunity to visit the main army base in the Golan Heights, where we had the rare experience of seeing tanks and ammunition up close, with the explanation of the veteran military experts.
"Tractoronim" - ATVing, Hike, Swim and BBQ
On Wednesday the Bochurim headed to Dishon, halfway between Tsfas and Kiryat Shemona, for an exhilarating off road "Tractoronim" ride, stopping along the trail to take in the beautiful views, at times even being able to see Lebanon. The bochurim also hiked the Nachal Kadesh dry riverbed, ending at the Metsudat Koach. The Yeshivas Kayitz then moved on together to a large swimming facility in Kiryat Shemona where everyone enjoyed a fun and refreshing evening swim, followed by a delicious barbeque supper before heading back to Tsfas.
Talmid Hashavua - Parshas Matos
On Thursday night, one Talmid from each class was awarded the “Talmid Hashavua” for excelling in Limmud HaTorah over this past week.
In addition to the certificate of achievement, the Talmidim were given a set of the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s Memoirs as a prize for their efforts.
We wish them continued success in their learning, going from strength to strength.
Good Shabbos!
Draft - First Day of Sports - Video #4
Motzei Shabbos the Talmidim gathered in the zal for a most exciting Sports Draft. The captains were announced, who then chose their co-captains and first round picks.
After which the sports directors and the captains retired behind closed doors to pick the rest of their teams.
The next day, after a morning of the usual Limmud HaTorah the bochurim received their team caps and began the first games of the 5779 sports season.

Grand trip!
Wow! what a crazy awesome trip this was, where do I even start? let's start early Friday morning when we got up before it was even light outside, we said goodbye to the place where we spent the past 6 awesome weeks and got on the buses to head down to southern Israel.
our first stop, masada! we arrived while it was still cool outside and started our hike up the mountain, and boy was that hike worth it, to be able to see the remains or strutures from thousands of years ago and to see the magnifisant view. then from there, we took a short drive to the dead sea where we got to float and ate lunch.
Then off to chevron where we spent the best Shabbos we had, from the farbrengens Friday night to the tour of chevron shabbos afternoon, it was worth every moment spent there. Then motzie shabbos we left and headed to Mitzpe Ramon and went to sleep.
Sunday morning we got up, davened, had a full breakfast, and then on our way to Eilat and had the most fun anyone could have on the water, there was something there for everyone to do. we got to relax in the cruise ship, go down a water slide into the ocean, go tubing, and even got to go parasailing. After that, we went down the road to go camel back riding and rope coursing, what a crazy day this was. we headed back to Mitzpe Ramon and had a bbq and bomb fire.
Monday was another full day, we got to check out a lot of cool places in Kfar Chabad including the place where Rober makes all of their leather seforim. and then we went to the coolest museum I have ever been to, the blind museum! that was an expiriance I will never forget.
Monday evening we all gathered in Kfar Chabad for the most fanciest banquet, and said our goodbyes to the best, most awesome summer I could ever ask for.
Thank you YKTH for a summer of a lifetime
The old city of Tzfas
Yesterday we hiked down to the old city of tzfas, where we got a tour of the old city with a really cool and lively tour guide, we also saw a live glass blowing performance, and then we had a chance to go through the artist gallery and see a lot neat things. And to end off the day we got fresh hot pizza for supper served with a cold can of soda.
Haifa here we come!
Friday we got up early, went straight to davening then boarded the buses to go to Haifa where we ate breakfast right near the water, then off we went to get an exclusive tour of an Israeli navy base, where even pictures were not allowed there. Then straight to the beach where we jumped right in because of the heat and cooled off from this hot summer day. and to end off this awesome erev shabbos we went to a winery where we got to see where they grow the grapes, the machines they use to produce the wine, and even got to taste a little of their perfectly balanced wine.
A regular day... (not so regular)
Here is a regular day in Yeshivas Kayitz... even a regular day isn’t that regular though... We ended a busy day of serious learning and intense sports with a beautiful and heartwarming kumsitz.
Chof Av
Tonight in honor of Chof Av, the yartzeit of Reb Levik the Rebbe's father we had a farbrengen with a video presentation and a background of reb leviks life given by one of the staff.
