Yesterday was a full day of activities, starting with a trip to the Sofer. The boys got a hands-on look at the world of Safrus, from how the materials are prepared from the very beginning to how they eventually become the Tefillin and Mezuzos we use. They also learned how to write the letters of a Sefer Torah, Tefillin, and Mezuzah, along with the history and traditions behind Safrus.
In the afternoon, an IDF reservist gave the boys a hands-on introduction to Krav Maga and hand-to-hand combat, teaching them some of the techniques used in the field.
We finished off the day with an action-packed game of laser tag led by another IDF reservist, who gave the boys a glimpse into how soldiers approach and take on a target.
From Safrus to Krav Maga to laser tag, it was a full day with something different at every stop — and the boys had a great time from start to finish.
