Yesterday, the boys had the opportunity to visit an army base and bring simcha to the holy soldiers who protect Eretz Yisrael and Am Yisrael.
Along with the barbecue, the boys had the opportunity to help as many soldiers as possible put on Tefillin. The Bochurim went from soldier to soldier, giving them a chance to put on Tefillin and say the Shema. Tefillin has always been a powerful symbol of the Rebbe’s message to soldiers, especially during the Six-Day War, when the Rebbe emphasized the importance of putting on Tefillin as a source of protection for Jewish soldiers.
The boys also spent time with the soldiers, speaking with them, dancing together, and bringing plenty of energy to the base. A full barbecue was set up with freshly grilled steaks, wings, burgers, and all the sides.
One of the Bochurim also brought letters from the preschool at his local Chabad House back home. The young children had written messages thanking the soldiers for protecting them and their families. The letters were handed out to the soldiers, making the visit even more personal.
It was a great opportunity for the boys to spend time with our soldiers, put on Tefillin with them, thank them, and bring some simcha to their day.
