Grand trip!

Wow! what a crazy awesome trip this was, where do I even start? let's start early Friday morning when we got up before it was even light outside, we said goodbye to the place where we spent the past 6 awesome weeks and got on the buses to head down to southern Israel.

our first stop, masada! we arrived while it was still cool outside and started our hike up the mountain, and boy was that hike worth it, to be able to see the remains or strutures from thousands of years ago and to see the magnifisant view. then from there, we took a short drive to the dead sea where we got to float and ate lunch.

Then off to chevron where we spent the best Shabbos we had, from the farbrengens Friday night to the tour of chevron shabbos afternoon, it was worth every moment spent there. Then motzie shabbos we left and headed to Mitzpe Ramon and went to sleep.

Sunday morning we got up, davened, had a full breakfast, and then on our way to Eilat and had the most fun anyone could have on the water, there was something there for everyone to do. we got to relax in the cruise ship, go down a water slide into the ocean, go tubing, and even got to go parasailing. After that, we went down the road to go camel back riding and rope coursing, what a crazy day this was. we headed back to Mitzpe Ramon and had a bbq and bomb fire.

Monday was another full day, we got to check out a lot of cool places in Kfar Chabad including the place where Rober makes all of their leather seforim. and then we went to the coolest museum I have ever been to, the blind museum! that was an expiriance I will never forget.

Monday evening we all gathered in Kfar Chabad for the most fanciest banquet, and said our goodbyes to the best, most awesome summer I could ever ask for.

Thank you YKTH for a summer of a lifetime

Haifa here we come!

Friday we got up early, went straight to davening then boarded the buses to go to Haifa where we ate breakfast right near the water, then off we went to get an exclusive tour of an Israeli navy base, where even pictures were not allowed there. Then straight to the beach where we jumped right in because of the heat and cooled off from this hot summer day. and to end off this awesome erev shabbos we went to a winery where we got to see where they grow the grapes, the machines they use to produce the wine, and even got to taste a little of their perfectly balanced wine.

Shabbos Yerushalayim!

The highlight of the summer has arrived! After nearly 3 weeks in Eretz
Yisroel, we’re finally heading to Yerushalayim. We boarded early
Thursday morning, and headed straight to Latrun, museum and memorial.
We learnt about the legendary IDF tanks, how they developed over the
years and different battle they fought. Some pictures on the tanks,
and a sandwich lunch wrapped up the first leg of our trip.

Next we were onto the caves of Bar Kochva. Climbing through was sure a
squeeze. A tour guide showed us around the area and told us all about
the history.

Kever Rochel was very special, as we davened mincha and spent a few
minutes saying tehillim.

Arriving at our base for Shabbos was very exciting - a campus built
right outside the old city of Yerushalayim, just above Kever Dovid was
more than ideal . Made of ancient stones, and outdoor passage between
rooms gave the legit Yerushalayim experience.
After a magic show bye Rabbi Victor Atiya, it couldn’t get more
surreal than when music and dancing spring up in the courtyard outside
our rooms in honor of Chamisha Asar B’av. It’s almost as if YKTH had
arranged it for us!!

Friday we were busy touring Ir Dovid, and it’s epic water tunnels.
Erev Shabbos wouldn’t be complete without spending some time in Shuk
Machane Yehuda to pick up some lunch, and shop around in the madness.

Heading down to be Kosel, a first for many was amazing. A spirited
Seder nigunim and kabbolas Shabbos attracted big crowds around us.
Lively shabbos meals and beautiful farbrengens filled the shabbos, as
well as a quick tour around the Old City.

After shabbos we enjoyed tons of pizza and a cool presentation from a
senior general in the IDF.

Sunday came, and the fun continued! After touring the Kosel Tunnels,
packing packages for Kollel Chabad and the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum
filled our afternoon. Supper on Geula, and the shopping craziness
adding a whole new flavor.
A stop at Ramat Shlomo at the 770 for maariv and the marathon was
over....till the next day...

Tzfas Elite program!!!

As the summer reaches its half way point, it’s realy hitting a high.

The counselors initiative Tzfas Elite has really taken off. The program is designed to give the bochurim an appreciation for the special role they play as Yidden, Chassidim and especially Temimim in the Rebbe’s Yeshivos. Along with this appreciation comes a feeling of responsibility to live up to the position we are in. The program has brought to Yeshiva a focus, that there are things that “Past” and  “‘Past Nisht” for Temimim. Playing out both in the positive and the negative, there are things we are expected to do, and things that we are expected to stand above and avoid.

The program is designed after a real-world credit card system.  Innovative and exciting, no bochur could hold back from getting involved and giving it a try. The modern system also allows the bochurim to easily track their progress and make practical goals for themselves.

Every bochur began with a basic Tzfas Elite Blue card. Basics that are expected from a bochur on a daily basis are available for ‘purchase’ everyday on the Tzfas Elite Kiosks. Chitas and rambam are stressed along with other chasidishe hanhagos. The bochurim check off what they do each day and their total spending is automatically updated. A minimum threshold was set for the Blue card to give them a goal to work towards.

Once their threshold is met, the bochurim are eligible to apply for the Tzfas Elite Red card. Moving up in the ranks, the Red cardholders have more things to purchase daily, encouraging them to grow, and set higher standards for themselves.
They are also rewarded for their efforts, with a signup bonus and other perks.

Tzfas Elite also hosts bi-weekly Elite events where tre bochurim are guaranteed a good time and a full stomachs. Four course gourmet meals prepared and served, every bochur walks away wow’d and committed to continue his efforts to guarantee that he be invited to the next Elite Event. The excitement amongst the bochurim over the Events is really outstanding.

Bh Tzfas Elite is off to an amazing start. Many bochurim are involved, making new hachlatos and growing in every area of yiddishkeit and chasidishkeit.

Our first adventure

The first trip of YKTH started off with a bang as we climbed down har arbel in beautiful israel weather. when we got to the bottom of the mountain, we were greeted by ice cold water and fresh danishes.  Then we headed to the keneret for a much needed swim. The next part of our trip was to the rambam's kever were we made a siyum on rambam. And just when we thought that we had to get back to yeshiva because it was getting close to shabbos, we made one last stop at the supermarket to get everything we needed.

Getting started...

It’s been barely two days since our buses made their way up the windy hills of Tzfas and pulled up in front of our beautiful YKTH campus. Two days, but it feels like we’ve been here for months. After the long flight to Eretz Yisroel, wasting no time we jumped straight into our full blown learning schedule.

Shiurim were quickly set up and our top tier magidei shiurim introduced. fascinating shiurim fill the day. starting with chassidus before davening, follows by an amazing curriculum covering the different aspects of maachalei Aku”m, as well as an exclusive YKTH study of Eretz Yisroel.

Complimented by a complete half day sports schedule, which will lead us to the highly anticipated draft Motzei Shabbos, kicking off leagues. Stay tuned for details.

Not to mention the revolutionary program called Tzfas Elite that was kicked off Wednesday night. The program encourages and assists us bochurim to appreciate the unique position they are in as Yidden, Chassidim and especially as Temimim. This recognition translates into increased focus on keeping to higher standards in all areas of our life, be it the way we speak, dress, and even raven and learn. For a Tomim every must ‘Past!

A daily Duch is filled out via state of the art kiosks, as the program is based around the real world credit card system, in which to be a card member, there higher profile the card, the card member is held to certain standards - be it in yearly income or basic spending, in order to be eligible to tap into the Benefits of the card.

To finish off the day, Mivtzah Torah was launched. A program giving bochurim the extra push to put in the time and effort to finish the entire Meseches Makos!

Tomorrow will bring its own adventures...and we’ve only been here for two days....
